Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

TrackPe is an AI-powered Instagram Reels research tool that lets creators save, tag, and search reels via Instagram Direct Messages. TrackPe is developed and operated by Yash Bishnoi, an independent developer based in India. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to TrackPe and its operator. References to "you" refer to you as a registered user of our service.

2. What we collect

We collect only the data required to provide the service. This includes:

Account data

• Name and email address provided at registration
• Password (stored as a one-way cryptographic hash — we cannot read it). If you sign up via Google, no password is stored.
• If you use Google Sign-In: a unique Google account identifier (your Google "sub" ID) used solely to recognise your account. We do not receive or store your Google password or any other Google data beyond your name and email.
• Your subscription plan and billing history (processed via Razorpay)

Instagram connection data

• Your Instagram username when you connect your account
• A Meta Messaging sender ID — a platform-issued identifier used to match incoming DMs to your TrackPe account. This is not your Instagram password or login credentials.

Reel data

• Instagram Reel URLs you send to @trackpe.ai, along with publicly available metadata associated with those reels (caption, view count, like count, creator username, audio name, duration)
• Notes you manually attach to reels
• Collection names you create to organise your library

Usage data

• Search queries entered in the TrackPe dashboard
• Prompts submitted to the Ask AI feature
• Number of reels saved per month (for quota enforcement)

3. Instagram and Meta messaging data

TrackPe accesses your Instagram messages exclusively to receive the Reel URLs you send to our account (@trackpe.ai). We access this data under Meta's Platform Terms and the Instagram Messaging API.

We do not read, scan, store, or share any other messages — not your conversations with friends, follow requests, story replies, or any other content in your Instagram inbox. We only process the specific message you intentionally send to @trackpe.ai.

When you send a DM to @trackpe.ai, we extract the reel URL from the message text. The message content itself is not stored. Only the reel URL and any note you append to the message are retained as part of your reel record.

You can disconnect your Instagram account from TrackPe at any time via the Settings page. Disconnecting removes the stored sender ID and prevents future DMs from being processed. It does not delete reels already saved.

4. How we use your data

• To process and AI-categorise Instagram Reels you save
• To generate semantic embeddings that power natural-language search over your library
• To provide the Ask AI conversational analysis feature
• To enforce your subscription plan limits and quota
• To send transactional emails (account verification, billing notifications, support replies)
• To surface aggregate trending signals (anonymised, never individual)
• To detect and investigate abuse or misuse of the service
• To monitor service health and fix bugs

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for third parties, or any purpose beyond providing and improving TrackPe.

5. AI processing

TrackPe uses third-party AI services — currently Anthropic (Claude) and Voyage AI — to categorise, tag, summarise, and create vector embeddings of the reels you save. This processing uses reel metadata (caption, creator, hashtags) and the notes you add.

We do not use your saved reels, search queries, Ask AI conversations, or any personal data to train, fine-tune, or improve AI models — neither our own nor those of our AI providers. Data is sent to AI providers only to process your specific request in real time. Their data handling is governed by their respective privacy policies.

Ask AI conversations are stored to allow you to save and revisit insights. You can delete saved insights from the Ask AI page at any time.

6. Aggregate and trending data

TrackPe surfaces trending niches, hooks, and save velocity signals derived from anonymised, aggregated activity across all users. These signals are computed over large groups and cannot be traced back to any individual user or their specific saves. Your personal library, search history, notes, and collections are never surfaced to other users or included in any reports.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or broker your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who are contractually required to handle it in accordance with their privacy policies:

• Anthropic — reel metadata sent for AI categorisation and Ask AI responses
• Voyage AI — reel text sent to generate vector embeddings for semantic search
• Razorpay — payment processing and subscription management; we do not store your full card details
• Railway — cloud infrastructure provider hosting our database and servers in a secured environment
• Resend — transactional email delivery (account and support emails)
• Meta Platforms — Instagram Messaging API used to receive DMs you send to @trackpe.ai and send replies
• Google— if you use Google Sign-In, your id_token is verified against Google's public certificates. We receive only your name, email address, and a unique Google account identifier. No other Google data is accessed.

We may also disclose your data if required by applicable Indian law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TrackPe, our users, or the public.

8. Cookies and local storage

TrackPe uses cookies strictly for authentication and session management. Specifically:

• A session cookie to keep you logged in securely. This cookie is set by our server and is not accessible to client-side scripts.
• A small marker in your browser's local storage to track your login state on the client side. It contains no personal data.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. There are no third-party tracking scripts on any TrackPe page.

9. Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

• All reels, collections, notes, and AI insights in your library are permanently deleted.
• Your email address, name, and Instagram sender ID are permanently deleted.
• Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by Indian accounting law.
• Anonymised, aggregate signals derived from your data (e.g. network-level save counts) may persist but cannot be attributed to you.

To delete your account, contact us at support@trackpe.co.in. We will complete the deletion within 30 days.

10. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (India) and applicable law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data and account
• Grievance — raise a complaint about how your data is handled
• Nomination — nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity

You can export your reel library as a CSV file directly from the Settings page. You can delete your account from Settings or by emailing us.

To exercise any of the above rights, email our Grievance Officer at support@trackpe.co.in. We will respond within 30 days.

11. Age restrictions

TrackPe is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will delete their account and associated data promptly.

12. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing and are never readable by anyone, including us. We follow industry-standard practices for access control, infrastructure security, and data handling. While we take reasonable precautions, no internet service can guarantee absolute security. We will notify affected users and relevant authorities in the event of a data breach as required by applicable law.

13. Third-party links and services

Our service integrates with Instagram/Meta and links to your dashboard which may reference Instagram content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of Instagram, Meta, or any other third-party platform. We encourage you to review Meta's Privacy Policy separately. When you use TrackPe, you must also comply with Instagram's Terms of Use.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via email if the changes are significant. Continued use of TrackPe after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

15. Governing law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Information Technology Act 2000. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
